Stockport, Cheshire East and Manchester has welcomed the Secretary of State’s decision not to call in this application and that he is content that it be determined by the local planning authorities.
The three Local Planning Authorities referred the planning application for the A6 to Manchester Airport Relief Road to the Secretary of State for Communities and Local Government earlier this year.
Following careful consideration from the Secretary of State, the three Local Planning Authorities, Stockport, Manchester and Cheshire East Councils, have now been informed that the Secretary of State has decided not to call the scheme in for a Planning Public Inquiry. So the decisions of the three Local Planning Authorities to grant the scheme planning permission is confirmed.
Following the announcement, the National Transport Casework Team from Department for Transport has issued a letter to the Council advising the date of the associated Inquiries on the Side Road Orders and Compulsory Purchase Orders will be 30th September 2014.
The Inquiries will be held at Cheshire Conference & Events (Stockport County FC), Edgeley Park, Stockport, SK3 9DD.
The same letter has been issued to objectors and supporters of the Side Road Orders and Compulsory Purchase Orders.
