On Monday 24th September at approximately 6am, the A555 eastbound will reopen between the B5358 Wilmslow Road and the A34. Following this, at approximately 10am on 24th September for a period of four days, the B5358 Wilmslow Road will be closed in both directions from immediately north of the A555/B5358 Wilmslow Road junction to immediately south of the Lakeland access. A signed diversion route will be in place during the closure via the B5094 Stanley Road, A34 and A555. A pedestrian route will be provided through the closed section of Wilmslow Road. Cyclists will need to dismount and use the pedestrian route. Access to Lakeland will be provided from the north and access to Little Acorns Nursery will be provided from the south.
The closure is needed to allow the construction of a new pedestrian/ cycle crossing north of the northernmost roundabout at the Wilmslow Road/ A555 junction and has been coordinated with works taking place in the wider area. We apologise in advance for delays to journeys caused by the closure.
